Our Story

Stylu was founded in 2015 by Justin Colombo, a beauty industry expert and an award winning salon owner. He found it difficult to get affordable salon-quality services sent directly to the client. To recognize this void in the market, he decided to combine top-rated experts and convenience at a competitive price point, and created the Stylu “on-demand” app.

Stylu enables licensed and vetted beauty professionals to earn three to four times more per hour than the industry standard – all while managing a work schedule that’s flexible and convenient.

The Stylu Professionals

Stylu Safety Procedures

Stylu professionals are selectively hand picked and are required to have years of experience in the beauty industry. Each qualified professional must pass through a rigorous vetting process before joining the Stylu network.

Initial Screening

All certified Stylu professionals are required to:

Submit a detailed application, resume and portfolio.
Participate for an in-person interview with the Stylu management team to assess their qualifications and to ensure their performance meets our community standards.

Qualified License+Certification

We verify that each professional must obtain an Ontario Certificate of Qualification. Each Stylu Professional must meet all Ontario beauty licenses and certification requirements.

Background Check+Screening

Each qualified professional is deeply background check through HireRight’s country/province database:

Identification Verification: We verify and review all identity details such as email, phone number, social security number, bank account and all social media accounts.

Criminal Background Check: We screen Stylu professionals through HireRights national criminal database to ensure each service provider is not a sexual offender using Department of Justice’s comprehensive nationwide registry.

Customer Feedback+Reviews

Customers feedback and reviews are extremely important for the Stylu team. A client’s feedback and experience will be provided after every service to maintain quality control and high customer satisfaction.
